[ So Arendelle is a beautiful place, and Kairi's had a wonderful time seeing the sights with Sora. Snow's a new and fun experience for her, so building things and throwing it at her companion has been a blast. But neither of them really came ... prepared for the cold. Thinking ahead has never really been either's forte.

So when a blizzard hits and they're forced into a nearby empty cabin, it's no wonder the first sound of Kairi's is— ]

Achoo—! [ A soft sniffle. ] I think we should be safe in here. Safer than out there, at least.

[ She glances around the minimally furnished living room they've found themselves in, her hands rubbing her arms and hoping the feeling comes back to them. ]

[You'd think Sora would've learned his lesson after the first time around but no.... He came back to Arendelle with absolutely nothing to prepare him for the cold, and now he's freezing his butt off!! Teeth chattering, rubbing his arms like crazy, the works.

And he's sniffling too. This might be even worse than the last time...]

I sure hope so... [The howling cold wind doesn't exactly reassure him though. As he wanders around the extremely sparse cabin though, he finds what looks like a fire place.] Hey, maybe we can light a fire here!

[ No one in this group learns their lessons. But this time he's taken Kairi down with him!!

She perks up at his comment, glad to hear there's already some hope for them to warm up, and then she moves over to join him near it. ]

Yeah, that sounds good. You think you can do it?

[ She knows he's got his fire magic. And she does, too, but when she tries to curl her fingers, they just won't do it. Darn cold and its numbing properties. ]

I'd do it myself, but... I'm not sure I could even hold my Keyblade right now.

Let me see...

[Come on Sora, Kairi's counting on you!! He's used magic a million times, surely a little fire can't be hard!!! But just like plot loves to render him incapable of summoning his keyblade, rp dictates that Sora can't do shit once again. Likewise, he can't even curl his fingers to reach out for his keyblade. Honestly, he can't even concentrate enough to do it. It's just too cold!!

So he sighs, sagging a bit as he accepts his defeat.]

It's no good. [What kind of boyfriend is he where he can't even help Kairi get warm... And even worse, they're out in practically the middle of nowhere thanks to all their fun and exploring. He really is dragging her down with him!!] I'm sorry, Kairi. I should've told you about how cold it is here.

[ Well, she won't say it's a good thing he can't get the fire started either, but she's not going to wallow in despair over it. They'll find a way through this, and she'll find the good in things in the meantime.

So instead of looking upset, she shakes her head a little and smiles for him. ]

It's okay, Sora. Really! This is just another thing we can't experience on the Destiny Islands. [ Getting caught in a blizzard and freezing your butt off in a cabin, that is. ] When you look at it like that, it can seem kind of exciting.

[ Her smile gets a little wider, a little more reassuring, before it's cut off by another sneeze like the one before, followed by a larger sniffle because stop running, nose...!! ]

Yeah? [It's a very optimistic way of looking at things... So naturally, Sora's on board! But then Kairi sneezes, and he has to tease:] So is getting sick from the cold an experience we can't get on Destiny Islands, too?

[Even if he's really in the exact same boat judging from how he sniffles too.... Look at his smile though! Clearly Kairi's cheer has worked its magic on him.]

[ Her cheer has a certain quality to it that makes it hard to ignore. It's way more fun to be optimistic about this situation, and she doesn't really believe anything terrible will come out of it, so long as they're together, so there's nothing to worry about, right?

She laughs a little at his teasing. ] You know it is. [ They both know this wouldn't happen there so technically it is!!! ] And it looks like we're experiencing that together, too.

[ Because she sees your sniffles, buddy. She knows they're in this boat together. So she had to tease a little back!! ]

Jeez, if I knew you'd find getting a cold so exciting, I would've taken you straight to Elsa's castle on top of the mountain! We'd freeze our butts off for sure there.

[HE'S KIDDING.... MAYBE....... Except then he sneezes, loud and gross-sounding, before squatting and curling up as if the empty fire place can still help him warm up. He looks back up at Kairi, smile a bit sheepish now.]

Although that might happen here anyways...

[ She laughs a little at that. ] Hey, it's not like I want to get sick. But we've got to make the best of things, right?

[ His squatting in front of a non-existant fire is not helping him, though, so she thinks of a better plan. She holds her hand out, signaling him to take her hand. ]

Come on, let's check if there are any warm blankets in the bedroom.

[ Before their sneezes get any grosser. ]

But Kairiiii, I'm already sitting down. [Yes, he's whining and being lazy, even though he does still take her hand. Not like he'll ever turn down an excuse to hold her hand!!] What if you just sit down too, and we can huddle together? That'll warm us up! I think.

[Being sick makes you tired after all, right! But also this place is so barren and decrepit-looking, what blankets could they actually find... What if they're gross ones....]

[ Ah, Sora. Of course you'd be like this. Not that she minds it, really. And, well, the place is pretty run down. Still, it wouldn't hurt to look for blankets, but she supposes she can play along with him for now.

So she laughs softly. ]

You think?

[ And then she kneels down and sits beside him, facing him. ]

Okay, then... It's a challenge! Prove you're warmer than blankets!

[ Her tone is playful yet challenging. Gotta get him to do his best!! ]

[Truly the easiest way to actually get Sora to do his best...]

A challenge, huh? [He turns around a bit so he can face Kairi, smile widening.] Alright then, you're on!

[INCOMING BEAR HUG as he does his best to wrap her completely in his arms. And he succeeds! Or he would, if he wasn't shaking so much from the cold honestly. Depending on how cold Kairi is, the most she might be able to feel is that... he's cold. As for him, he can barely feel her in general.

But surely that's not how it is for her, right?!]

So? Am I warmer than blankets, or what?

[ Oh, Sora. She knew that would happen. Though she squeaks a little in surprise when his bear hug comes for her so suddenly, laughing immediately afterward. ]

Sora!

[ He's so silly. But... she herself is extremely cold, so it's just one big cold fest happening here. Her hands may be numb, but she moves them to weakly wrap around him in return, wrapping them around his shirt but under his jacket so they can be under something... Hopefully that's not too weird for him.

And she shivers into him for a moment, it going right through her body, before she speaks, smiling. ]

Hmmm, you might be. It's a close call! I think I'll need some time to think about it.

[ That's her way of staying they should stay like this for a while. It's comfortable but it's also going to warm up more the longer they're close, so, science — ]

[FOR SCIENCE, of course. Sora sure won't complain about it!! Besides, despite the bone-chilling cold, it feels... safe, in a way. Just knowing that they're here, together, with nothing to threaten them or keep them apart or any of the other trouble that always seems to come between them. This time, the only danger here is a cold.

Although that is still kind of dangerous... He rubs his hands up and down, hoping that'll make things at least a little bit warmer for Kairi. Plus he has to beat the blankets still!!]

How about now?

[ Kairi would take catching a cold with sora than doing anything without him any day of the week. In fact, between the softness of hugging him, the slow warming of her body, and the rubbing, she almost zones out a little. It's just really comfortable, okay.

So her response is slightly delayed and a little... tired-sounding. ]

Okay, okay... You win. You're a little better. [ Followed by a small snicker. She can't just give him a 100% win that easily. Even if she sort of wants to.

But she buries her face into his shoulder a little, sniffling because wow her nose sure is runny and sick-like. ]

Aw, c'mon! Just a "little" better, really?

[His competitive streak won't settle for less than the best!! But it is really comfortable, staying like this. If not for him consciously trying to keep Kairi warm, he'd probably start dozing off, too. And speaking of dozing off...]

I know I'm comfier than a blanket, but no falling asleep on me. [Don't leave him to face the cold alone...! Although if her runny nose ends up running onto his shoulder a bit, well. So be it.]

[ It's fine, she's doing her best to keep her runny nose under control!! Which means lots of sniffling.

She laughs softly. ]

If you win too easily, it won't be any fun! [ Pulling her face out of his shoulder a bit then to prove that she's totally awake ok. ] But don't worry. I won't fall asleep! I just... feel a little tired right now, that's all.

[ Due to the temperatures? Or due to being sick? Who knows. ]

That's not any fun for me, y'know!

[Except he'll always have fun if Kairi's with him regardless smh... Although it'd be more fun if he wasn't shivering so much right now. With how cold he is, it's kind of hard to keep moving his hands.]

I'm kind of tired too, now that you mention it... But we've had a pretty long and crazy day, so maybe that's why. Maybe we should sleep, so we can rest up! [Somewhere, Riku is shouting in the distance that falling asleep in the cold is one of the biggest dangers of hypothermia!!]
